Wednesday, Nov. 11th at 2:00PM at the Humanities Research Center, Room 201
The Humanities Research Center will be hosting a workshop, Teaching in the Humanities: Integrating Analysis of Material Culture into the Classroom, starting at 2:00pm. This interactive workshop facilitated by Ryan Smith (History), Claire Bourne (English), and Bernard Means (Anthropology) will explore strategies for integrating the analysis of material cultural into your humanities teaching.
The workshop will provide specific examples based on the presenters’ experiences and also discuss the pedagogical implications of this approach. Each presenter will share their insights, and then the session will open up for discussion of the group’s own ideas, challenges, and experiences. The workshop facilitators will subsequently make available sample assignments via Blackboard and a PBWorks wiki.
Faculty are encouraged to bring their questions and assignments they might want to discuss.
